The heritage of a great legend goes on...
This year the first prototype built in series of the much longed for Bugatti EB 16.4 Veyron is going to be produced at the automaker’s headquarter in Molsheim, Château St. Jean near Strasbourg, France.
The predecessors of the Bugatti EB 16.4 Veyron are known as jewels of the automobile construction, legends that were built from 1881 to 1939 and repeatedly won various races, ranging from Strasbourg to Monte Carlo.
Just in line with Ettore Bugatti’s motto: "nothing is too beautiful, nothing is too expensive", the EB 16.4 Veyron is going to be produced 50 times a year for wealthy customers.
1001 HP, a 16-cylinder engine and acceleration from zero to 300 km/h within 15 seconds are ambitious goals, but the buyers of a 1 million Euro car (net price, of course) expect the EB 16.4 Veyron to represent the ultimate super car and Bugatti’s superb creation.
A number of the selected potential customers had the unique opportunity to test-drive a Bugatti 16.4 Veyron prototype last Thursday. Of course, we didn’t miss the chance to go to France, the test-drive took place in Anneu du Rhin.
Two prototypes, one in yellow and the other in red were already driving some laps. Our breath was taken away the moment we saw the first EB 16.4 Veyron coming out of a curve, speeding towards where we were standing. We’ve seen several super cars, but the EB 16.4 Veyron with its astonishing scene puts anything the car industry has shown so far in the shade. No other vehicle combines elegance with dynamics and exclusiveness like the Veyron does. On the racecourse we experienced how the EB 16.4 not only looks fabulous but opens new horizons in terms of driving technique. It has to be mentioned that the test-driven car was an early prototype and not by any means represents the new version built in series. Nevertheless one could feel the unbelievable 1001 HP; on a short straightaway the 200 km/h mark was reached easily and the curves could be driven like on rails. The car simply is addictive!
All participants were deeply impressed and satisfied. We would like to thank Bugatti for the very special event and hope that our pictures and videos can pass on to you an idea of the Bugatti-myth. Enjoy our Bugatti Special!
